For PGA HOPE Graduates, the PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup is an experience unlike any other. The event celebrates the PGA HOPE Program by providing a unique and memorable experience for our military Veterans and the PGA Professionals who work tirelessly to positively impact Veterans’ lives.
This annual event in conjunction with the week of PGA Championship, began in 2016 and is named after the Secretary of Veteran Affairs in recognition of the Memorandum of Understanding between the PGA of America REACH Foundation and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Each team is made up of four Veterans from a PGA HOPE program and one PGA or LPGA Professional.
Join NCPGA Professionals in Supporting UC Davis Children’s Hospital and PGA HOPE Northern California. Every birdie brings hope — to Children and our Veterans in need of healing.
Teams led by PGA Professionals will play 36 holes of golf to raise money for healing purposes! The NCPGA Foundation has partnered with Jack & Barbara Nicklaus’ Children’s Miracle Network Play Yellow campaign to raise money for UC Davis Children’s Hospital, PGA HOPE, and the Chris Thomas PGA Associate Scholarship Fund.
“Golf is a great healer – it can do a lot of good for a lot of people.” – Jim Langley, PGA, former head Pro at Cypress Point Club, US Marine, and one arm golfer.
Help support our causes by making a pledge to a Team on their quest for birdies on Monday, October 27th at El Macero Country Club. All donations are fully tax deductible through NCPGA Foundation 501c3 tax ID 75-3249593.

The Langley, A Tribute to Legends, presented by Liberty Partners Group, is the Northern California PGA Foundation’s premier annual fundraising event. This extraordinary two-day experience brings guests to the iconic Pebble Beach Resorts to celebrate legends of the game alongside distinguished leaders from sports and business.
Named in honor of Jim Langley, the beloved PGA Head Golf Professional at Cypress Point Club and a proud U.S. Marine, The Langley serves as a charitable fundraiser supporting PGA HOPE Northern California and the Jim Langley Scholarship Fund.
The invitational gathering includes many who knew Jim personally, as well as guests drawn to the unparalleled Pebble Beach experience — a cocktail reception, elegant gala dinner, live and silent auctions, an intimate fireside chat with the Honorees, and a Pro-Am played on the world-renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links.
This year’s Honorees, Ben Crenshaw and Sam Reeves, embody the character, integrity, and commitment to excellence that defined Jim Langley’s life. Though from different arenas of achievement, both honorees share a deep respect for the traditions of the game, devotion to family and community, and a passion for giving back. During the fireside conversation, they reflected on their journeys, the mentors who shaped them, and the responsibility that comes with leadership and legacy.
Their participation reinforces the spirit of The Langley — honoring excellence while supporting military Veterans whose lives are impacted through PGA HOPE. As has become tradition, guests will also hear firsthand about the life-changing power of the program and its profound impact on Veterans across Northern California.
Now in its 18th year, The Langley continues its tradition of philanthropic success, with expectations to net more than $250,000 in support of the Foundation’s mission.
We are proud to welcome Liberty Partners Group as the new Title Sponsor, whose leadership and commitment elevate this year’s event. Their partnership reflects a shared belief in service, excellence, and meaningful impact.
Additional event partners play an integral role in bringing The Langley to life, including valued sponsors, community leaders, and supporters who believe in the power of golf to change — and save — lives.
As has been said of PGA HOPE: the PGA of America has many programs that change lives, but only one that saves lives — and that is PGA HOPE. The Langley stands as a powerful testament to that mission.
To date, PGA HOPE Northern California has served over 3,000 military veterans with instruction programs in operation at twenty-eight locations twice a year. The strength of PGA HOPE comes from the comradery and testimony of Veterans who have completed the program who willingly volunteer their time to spread the word about PGA HOPE.
